Difference is that we are using XML to define the entire object model, business rules/logic, screens, workflow, etc.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As opposed to Windchill which uses UML to create models which then must be distilled to code, compiled, linked, etc (and also Db &amp;amp; UIs updated) - we are using XML solution models in a runtime environment. No complex code gets created, no compiling needed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You can change the schema, biz rules, forms, workflows, etc in real time. This is much faster and more robust.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Can read more about the differences between our pure metadata architecture (or Model-based SOA) vs model-driven or conventional systems in this white paper &lt;a rel="nofollow" target="_new" href="http://www.aras.com/PLM-Software/100063.aspx"&gt;www.aras.com/.../100063.aspx&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
