GIVEN
To create Manufacturers:
1.  From TOC, select Sourcing, then Manufacturers.
2.  Right click and select New Manufacturers... from the popup menu.

DETAILS
The user logged in is in the Component Engineering Identity (CEI), the CEI has "Can Add" privliges on the Manufacturer ItemType.

PROBLEM
The popup window, New Manufacturers, is not available.

The "New Manufacturer..." option is not available on that menu unless the Manufacturer search grid is loaded.  Simply left-click on the Manufacturer item and allow search grid to load.  The option should then be available from the TOC.

This looks like a relatively minor usability issue.  We will look at fixing it in a future version.

The TOC File / New remains disabled even after we let the grid is loaded.

We use V9.0.1 build 5430

Any otherway to enable this option?

This bug is present for Manufacturer, Manufacture Part and Vendor.

 I tried this on my V9.0.1 build 5430 install and the TOC File/New was enabled for adding Manufacturers after the grid was loaded, as long as the user was a member of the Component Engineering Identity.

Did you logoff Innovator after you added a new member to the Component Engineering Identitiy and then log back on?  This will clear the cached Identity/Member relationships.

Thanks for the reply. We tried under InnovatorAdmin log in? Would it matter. I suppose the admin user should have all previleges?

I will try with another user belonging to CEI;

I did log off and log in again.

Just want to clarify the problem:

1) A user logs in who is a member of the Component Engineering Identity (Innovator Admin is not a member by default.)

2) The user selects Sourcing\Manufacturer from the TOC

3) The "Create a New Item" button is disabled in the main toolbar.

Is this correct?

Innovator Admin is not a part of CEI, I added Innovator Admin to CIE, Add (Manufacturer, Vendor, Manufacturer Part) option is enabled now
