DEVELOPERS FORUM - Change workflow activity assignee if item property is changed

I need to change workflow assignee based on the value of the field (Ex. account_mgr).

I dinamically assign approver OnActivate, but now need the method to change it if value of the item  property is changed before the assignment is completed.

I think I need to write a method for the itemtype onBeforeUpdate, but having problem writing query to get an Activity ID. Is this correct approach?
