SUPPORT Q&A - Dotnet security policy doesn't work after installing dotnet farmework 4.5 on client

hbai - Wednesday, September 19, 2012 5:00 AM:

After I installed VisualStudio 2012 on my Client PC the security settings doesn't work anymore.

Therfore I am not able to log on to the system anymore.

I have already repeated the configuration with the sdns tool. Nothing happens. I am still not able to login.

Is it possible the problem is the dotnet framework 4.5?

Hi Hbai,

I had a the issue, and with the help of Aras, one of the steps below solved the issue

Did all at once so cannot be sure which one did.

Try these steps

- Revert Internet Explorer settings (via the advanced page in internet options

- Delete all browsing history (inc untick Preserve Favourites website data)

- Delete all .net Code Access Security Policies (and reconfigure sdns)

David,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I have just installed VS2012 and I am experiencing the same problems as the Original Poster.

I have tried your steps but I can't quite figure out how to delete the .net Code Access Security Policies. Could you please give a pointer on how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Stefan

Thank you for your reply.

This is not possible for me.

I need the Framework installed for other applications.

Is there an updated sdns.exe for this issue?

Its important. I can imagine others will run into the same problem soon.
