Hi Champs,

I am new to Innovator tool.

My question:

1. How to import the existing BOM in to the Innovator?

2. What is the format i have to follow while importing the Bom?

It is mentioned in wiki that we can import any format.

 http://www.aras.com/Community/wikis/rfp/10-bom.aspx

I am having my BOM in excel, could you please tell the procedure to import that BOM.

Thanks,

Sam

You can either build your own tool, using IOM (Innovator Object Model); or you can use the Batch Loader utility (part of your subscription membership).  Either ways, you would need to have your data model sorted out first.

I've chosen IOM because it gives me more flexibility.  Besides, if you want to automate the whole upload process in one shot (i.e., file, document, part, and their counter part relationships, etc...), you would find it easier to do using IOM.

You can also use the NASH scripts tool to load data into Innovator.

See this post for details on how you might import your BOM using the NASH tool.

You have to be able to create the right AML statements in order to do the import but that is a relatively simple process from Excel.

Cheers,

Brian.
