Hello,
I'm a new user of Aras Innovator.
For my thesis I'm using Aras Innovator, but I have 2 problem .
In this days I tryed to assign the material and weigth to a part.
1. How assign a material to a part?
2. If I attach a document (for example file solidworks) can I insert the weigth of this file into the part?
Thanks a lot.
(Sorry for bad english)

Hi Michelangelo,
For weight see the "Goals" tab on the Part form.
Parts have goals which can be cost or weight. These are for design to goal activities and cost roll ups.
You can add an actual weight as a field on the goal.
I can't seem to post a picture at the moment but it is easy to work out.
To add a "material" you will need add a new Property to the Part Item Type. See the Just Ask Innovator help files. But basically open the Part item type for edit.
Add a new property called "material" then save. Now edit the "Part" Form and add the new Property using the "Unused Properties" dropdown on the middle toolbar. Drag it to where you want to see it on the form and save.
Now create a new part and you will see the "Material" field on the form and will be able to save data in it.
Hope this helps,
Brian.

Thank you very much Brian....
I followed your advice and now I can select a material in part form.
But for weight problem I have a doubt.
When I attach the SolidWorks file, I must read the exactly weight in the part.
Is there a program for read this information into SolidWorks file?
Thank you a lot.
