Classification module
Aras Innovator provides a classification service, which can be configured individually for each ItemType. See the Part and Document ItemTypes for examples.
The system shall provide the mechanism to define the hierarchial classification of the items which form a product.
Meets requirement. Due to the power of the modeling environment, Aras Innovator supports a broad definition of product structure. Carestream can manage parts, documents, tools, critical characteristics, requirements, etc. in a structured and controlled methodology.
Aras Innovator includes a Classification service which is used to provide a classification system for items. It may also be used to provide classification of other business objects such as Suppliers, Documents, Tools, etc. extending the power of classification techniques to all business objects under management.
The system shall provide a classification capability in order to categorize, attribute item information stored in the application.
Meets requirement. Aras Innovator includes a Classification Service as one of the core framework web services. This is used to build hierarchical classification structures for any standard or customer defined business objects.
Classification is used to automate selection of attributes, forms, permissions, lifecycles and workflows, and behaviors.
