The Director of Marketing Communications plays a leading role within the global marketing team, helping to shape the Aras brand and directing the creative strategy for the company. This position will help us be the leading voice in the industry conversation by establishing a clear point of view, and building and executing the communications strategy.  You will collaborate with the teams on go to market strategies, coordinating globally with a focus on execution. 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement a brand strategy that includes brand definition, architecture, representation and standards consistently used with all audiences. Ongoing ideation, creation, and pitching of brand-related content to a wide range of media outlets. 
  • Communications/Public Relations: Manage external communications activities for the organization, partnering with the PR agency to manage press releases, media advisories, and pitches. Identify and engage with media and influencers.  Act as an official spokesperson for the organization and maintain contacts with journalists.
  • Editorial and Messaging: Help shape the Aras brand and messaging; partner with product teams and programs to establish a clear point of view regarding key topics relevant to Aras and ensure our story is applied thoughtfully throughout all external communications.  Draw from key pieces of the Aras story and turn them into a compelling narrative.  Ensure content is on-brand, determine appropriate channels for content distribution, and secure partnerships with media properties to expand reach. 
  • Creative Design:  Direct the management of creative design projects to support the organization; includes web banners, online and print ads, eBooks, digital and print brochures, event collateral, image library. Work with team to manage external designers, timelines, and budget.
  • Digital, Social and Event Platforms: Oversee the development and management of materials for use on digital and social platforms. Look for and evaluate new opportunities to expand reach. Develop an executive speaking and event roadmap, including innovative thought-leadership opportunities for our executive team.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of marketing and communication professionals to provide services to the organization and execute the vision of marketing.  Manage program team requests and promote campaigns.
  • Budget Management: Oversee and maintain the marketing communications budget.

 

What you need

  • Deep experience in brand marketing, media and public relations, resulting from 15+ years’ experience in software or technology
  • A “genius” for storytelling and making brands come to life with demonstrated success creating communications plans, building messaging frameworks, and driving the creative process
  • Experience directing and project managing an in-house creative team and contract designers to drive desired results
  • Proven success driving an editorial calendar and successful media placements spanning both traditional and social, working with public relations firm to drive coverage
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with teams to quickly produce different types of materials across the marketing mix including web content, video, white papers, social media, blogs, etc.
  • International experience collaborating with global teams to help execute and support regional go to market plans, digital campaigns and face to face events
  • A passion for managing, inspiring and mentoring a team to drive growth
  • Down-to-earth interpersonal skills with ability to make connections and collaborate
  • High level of energy, enthusiasm, initiative and responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, in Marketing, Communications and/or Business
  • Excellent visual, verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience working with both external agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Fluency in English - written and spoken; other languages a plus
  • A reputation for driving results through exceptional execution – rolling up your sleeves and translating big ideas into action and business results
