2.1 Create New Document using a Template

This use case allows you to use a template file stored in Aras as the basis for a new document you wish to create. The following capabilities are supported by this use case:

  • Supported for Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A template file provides a starting point for document creation
  • Filename and Aras Document number are automatically generated based on your company's process
  • Optionally you may select an existing Aras item to link to, such as a Part or Project. If selected, this linked item can also help drive the filename and Document number.
