Aras Joins Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Early Access Program

Aras is Selected for Strategic ISV Program for SQL Server 2008 Enablement

ANDOVER, MASS. - October 22, 2007 - Aras Corporation, leading Microsoft enterprise open source software solution provider, today announced that the company has joined the Early Access Program [EAP] for Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Aras is the first enterprise Product Lifecycle Management solution provider to join the SQL Server 2008 EAP.

The EAP is intended to support a limited number of strategic independent software vendors [ISVs] that are committed to enabling their solutions on the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database. Along with access to SQL Server 2008 code the EAP provides technical specifications, compatibility requirements, development information, testing guidance, and direct assistance to support the solution provider's enablement process.

"Aras expects that SQL Server 2008 will quickly become the enterprise database platform of choice for mission critical solutions, and the enhanced scalability, manageability, and security represent significant advancements over competitive database products," said Peter Schroer, President of Aras Corporation. "By becoming part of the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 EAP we continue to be the only provider of enterprise PLM solutions on the market that delivers open innovation for the corporate community."
