The Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes is sponsored by Aras Corporation (referred to herein as "Aras" or “Sponsor”), 300 Brickstone Square, Suite 904, Andover MA 01810-1492.

The Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes will award one (1) winner the prize of one (1) VIZIO VP50 50" Plasma HDTV or similar prize of equal or greater value in the event of product discontinuation. The approximate retail value of the prize is $1,500. Prize award requires successful completion of the terms and conditions defined in the SELECTION OF WINNER section of these Official Rules and prize shipment timing depends on product availability.

Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older, or the age of majority in their state of residence, whichever is older, at the time of entry registration as confirmed by a valid government-issued photo identification. Employees of Aras, and the immediate families (spouses, parents, children, siblings) and household members of such employees are not eligible.

Entries for the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes may be submitted beginning on January 1, 2008 at 12:01:59AM EST US and ends March 31, 2008 at 5:00:00 PM EST US (the "Promotion Period"). All entries must be received during the Promotion Period. Entries from previous Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes Promotion Periods are not valid and will not be counted in the current Promotion Period.

Anyone who qualifies as an eligible contestant that is registered with Aras that refers a friend or colleague that registers on the Aras web site during the Promotion Period will be automatically entered into the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes once for each unique new person that is referred and that registers with a legitimate email address and that opts-in to receive email from Aras. Referral registration entries are not valid unless the referral entry form is completed properly with all required information submitted including a valid email address with opt-in privileges.


There is no limit on the number of valid referral registration entries a contestant can accumulate.


Referrals that initially opt-in to receive email from Aras and later opt-out during the Promotion Period are ineligible and will not be counted as a valid entry. All referral registration entries must be received through one of the online processes provided through the Aras website or one of its Affiliate sites. Entries are the property of Aras and will not be returned.


To enter without referring a friend: On a plain 3" x 5" piece of paper hand write your first name, last name, email address, job title, company, street address, city, state, zip code, and daytime phone number, along with the words "REFER-FRIENDS-TO-WIN SWEEPSTAKES" and send an envelope with sufficient postage affixed to: Aras Corporation, 300 Brickstone Square, Suite 904, Andover MA 01810-1492. Entrant will be notified only in the event that he/she is the winner. Mail-in entries must be postmarked before midnight on the last day of the Promotion Period.


All parts of an entry must be filled out correctly; incomplete, illegible, misdirected, or postage due entries, or entries received through impermissible or illegitimate channels are void. Proof of submission or sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Aras. Only one (1) e-mail address per contestant is permitted. By entering as a contestant in the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes, you are agreeing to be notified by email and/or phone if you are the winner.


Aras is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received by Aras on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof. In the unlikely event Aras encounters technical or equipment failures such as telephone network lines failing, computer online systems failing, servers and/or provider services go down, or human error in connection with the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes Aras and promoters will not be held responsible. Aras assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. If for any reason this sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to any causes beyond the control of Aras which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes, Aras reserves the right at its sole discretion, to terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. Except as specified in the Consent to Use Information section below, collection and handling of personally identifiable information will be in accordance to the Privacy Policy as posted on the Aras web site.


Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes contestants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules and all interpretations of the rules by Aras and all decisions of Aras in connection with the Refer-A-Friend Sweepstakes.

One (1) winner will be selected from all eligible registered contestants in a random drawing from valid entries received. Odds of winning depend upon the number of valid entries received.


The winner will be notified within ten (10) days of the prize drawing. If the winner does not claim the prize within (1) calendar week from initial notification, then they will forfeit the prize and a new drawing will be conducted with an alternate winner selected. This process will continue until a winner is determined.


Before receiving any prize award and as a condition of receiving such prize, the winner will be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release within fourteen (14) days of attempted delivery. If the winner fails to sign and return the required documents within fourteen (14) days of the date on the notification letter, does not accept the prize, or fails to meet any eligibility requirement herein, they will forfeit the prize and a new drawing will be conducted with an alternate winner selected as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter. This process will continue until a winner is determined.


By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that Aras, its affiliates, distributors, partners, consultants, agents, advertising and promotional agencies and suppliers and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents shall have no liability for, and shall hold all such parties harmless against damage, loss or injury that may arise in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prizes or participation in the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes.


Aras will furnish to the Internal Revenue Service any required tax reporting forms relating to the award of the prize including Form 1099-MISC.

Winner is solely responsible for all taxes, fees, and insurance expenses, if any. No prize substitution, cash substitution, assignment or transfer of the prize is permitted, except that Aras may substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event it deems necessary. All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, expressed or implied, except as provided by the supplier. The Winner will look solely to the supplier of the prize for any supplier warranties that might accompany the prize.

Aras reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it reasonably suspects or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the award mechanism, whether on-line or by any other means, or to be acting in violation of these rules. Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes in any way will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

EACH CONTESTANT AGREES THAT ARAS AND ANY AFFILIATES, DISTRIBUTORS, PARTNERS, CONSULTANTS, AGENTS, AND EMPLOYEES AND ANY TELEPHONE NETWORK OR SERVICE PROVIDER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGE TO COMPUTER EQUIPMENT) RESULTING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES, DOWNLOADING, OR THE ACCEPTANCE OR USE OF THE PRIZE. EACH CONTESTANT FURTHER AGREES THAT ARAS AND ANY AFFILIATES, DISTRIBUTORS, PARTNERS, CONSULTANTS, AGENTS, AND EMPLOYEES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TYPOGRAPHICAL OR OTHER ERRORS IN THE OFFER OR ADMINISTRATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ERRORS IN ADVERTISING, THE OFFICIAL RULES, THE SELECTION AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNER OR THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE PRIZE. ARAS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THESE RULES FOR CLARIFICATION PURPOSES WITHOUT MATERIALLY AFFECTING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SWEEPSTAKES WITHOUT CONTESTANT NOTIFICATION.

If for any reason Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes or any portion thereof is incapable of running as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, strike, act of God, or any other cause beyond the control of Aras, Aras reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without obligation or prior notice, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. In such event, Aras will conduct a drawing to award the prize using all valid entries received as of the time of cancellation, termination, modification or suspension.

In the event of a dispute as to any registered contestant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register as a contestant for the Sweepstakes will be deemed to be the official contestant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Contestant may be required to show proof of being the "authorized account holder."

Except where prohibited, each contestant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by state or federal courts situated in Boston, Massachusetts and/or Suffolk County, Massachusetts (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys' fees; and (3) no punitive, incidental, special, consequential or other damages, including without limitation lost profits may be awarded (collectively, "Special Damages"), and (4) entrant hereby waives all rights to claim Special Damages and all rights to have such damages multiplied or increased. Massachusetts State law, without reference to Massachusetts’ choice of law rules, governs the Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes and all aspects related thereto.

Each contestant specifically acknowledges and agrees that Aras, and any affiliates, distributors, partners, consultants, agents, advertising and promotional agencies and suppliers may utilize information obtained from the contestant in order to contact him or her and/or to offer their products or services or for other promotional purposes, including online announcements, and as otherwise permitted by the Privacy Policy on the Aras web site. If a contestant would like to have his or her name removed from future mailings by Aras, he or she may unsubscribe at the Aras web site or notify Aras at the following address: Aras Corporation, 300 Brickstone Square, Suite 904, Andover, MA 01810-1492, except that this shall not apply to notification of the winner. By registering as a contestant, each contestant consents to the use of his or her name, likeness, biographical information, photograph, video (including the use and appearance of contestant’s photograph and video on the web site of Aras, and its affiliates and partners), and voice in this and future promotions and publicity without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.

Winner's name will be posted on the Aras web site for a minimum of 14 days, after which it may be removed. The Winner's name also may be posted on the web sites of Aras affiliates, distributors, partners, consultants, agents, advertising and promotional agencies and suppliers. Alternatively, you can obtain the winner's name by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope (residents of VT may omit return postage) to: Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes Winners' List, Aras Corporation, 300 Brickstone Square, Suite 904, Andover, MA 01810-1492.

The Refer-Friends-to-Win Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws. Void where prohibited. Aras shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed - including but not limited to rules regarding entries, selection of winner, deadlines, restrictions on the prize, and eligibility - and all of its decisions are final.
