Aras, the only resilient platform provider for digital industrial applications, today announced the availability of the latest open release of the company’s enterprise low-code platform, Aras Innovator Version 12 SP9, enabling organizations to accelerate the digital transformation of their product ecosystems with an end-to-end digital thread. The release includes significant functionality enhancements along with even faster performance in large global deployments. As an open release, anyone can download and use the release at no cost, allowing organizations to run their business on the Aras platform.

Companies need to continually transform to become more resilient, therefore creating an organization that can continually adapt to meet the unknown challenges of tomorrow. The future belongs to those that possess the agility to quickly pivot and take advantage of opportunity in a world of accelerating disruption.

This release extends Aras’ platform capabilities in five core areas that increase the velocity with which manufacturers of complex products can transform their processes. The five core areas include:

  • Improve User Productivity Across the Platform
A streamlined user experience created by a simplified interface makes Aras Innovator even easier to use and learn, while a navigation redesign helps users find the information they need faster. Additional productivity improvements span all aspects of the suite.
  • Enhance Visualization to Accelerate Navigation and Analysis
As product designs increase in complexity, manufacturers must be able to easily view and navigate their product data. Through a series of new updates, Aras has bolstered the power of its digital thread and digital twin visualization capabilities. Users can visualize relationships in the digital thread with Aras Graph Navigation; navigate PLM data in context of 3D models with Aras Dynamic Product Navigation; and visualize relationships with hierarchical display with Aras Tree Grid View – all of which help break down internal information siloes and create a clear through-line of product information to aid in informed decision-making.
  • Expand Functionality with New Platform Applications
Aras continues to build new applications across the lifecycle that expand the platforms breadth of functionality. Users can now manage requirements with context in PLM data using Aras Requirements Engineering and manage system models with traceability using Systems Architecture. Aras has also continued its incorporation strategy of acquired applications. Users can now capture and manage context for any physical asset with Digital Twin Core and manage simulation processes and results in the digital thread with Aras Simulation Management.
  • Optimize Core PLM with Updated Platform Applications
Aras has strengthened its engineering capabilities by regularly releasing enhancements to streamline the user experience in order to support product complexity. Users can define and manage product data across the lifecycle with Aras Product Engineering; connect and manage documents in the digital thread with Aras Office Connector; simplify electronic component selection with Aras Component Engineering; and unlock product data for the enterprise with SOLIDWORKS PDM Pro Connector.
  • Advanced Configurability with New Low-Code Features
Aras has extended its platform’s modeling engine by adding new low-code capabilities that improve Client Modeling through advanced security options and a streamlined Technical Documentation Framework, enabling organizations to continue to customize the application landscape and build with Aras to support new business initiatives.

“Business processes change quickly and often, without concern for the ability of supporting systems to change with them. It is critical for organizations to implement a strategy that enables them to adjust, adapt, and adopt when they need to,” said Peter Bilello, President & CEO of CIMdata. “By taking a sustainable platform approach, organizations are enabling the enterprise to get their work done in the most efficient way possible and can ensure end-to-end optimization and connectivity that is critical to an organization’s digital transformation.”

“At Aras we use our own platform as the basis of our worldwide product development processes, and even through recent periods of disruption we’ve been able to accelerate our release cadence to deliver a continuous flow of new functionality to our customers,” said John Sperling, SVP of Product Management at Aras. “We are excited about the new capabilities we’ve delivered in 12.0 SP9, and confident that Aras Innovator will take your product development processes to the next level, just like it did for us.”
