If you can see the parts as Root but not your user account it means that the user account is not a member of an identity which has access to the ItemType. For parts, check out the New Part permission:

Make sure your user is part of one of these groups (likely all employees).

Thanks, Eli. That makes sense. I'll try logging in as root and see if I can find the parts that way. If I can see them as root, that definitely points to a permissions problem with my regular user account, right?

Hi msasmita,

It sounds like your user may not have "get" or "can discover" permissions for parts. Can you log in as root (default password "innovator") and check whether you can see any parts with that user?
