CUI Table views not working

We have found a strange issue with the tool. We have found nothing in the available installation guides and support forums, and we would be very grateful if you could help us figure out the underlying issue here.

We have an installation of Aras Innovator 2024 ( 14.0.25.40942) that was working for a while, but last week, it started to throw error messages whenever we open any table view (e.g. the Requirement table), or we use any user interface feature related to this view, e.g., change pagination size, select a requirement, etc.

In each case, the error message relates to the favoriteLayoutData settings being not found. More specifically, the following message was emitted:

> The method 'cui_common_layouts_init' failed. favoriteLayoutData.settings is undefined Client Side Error

We have tried to reset the user preferences and try it out with another user, different browsers, and cleaning up locally stored cookies, but the issue persisted. We have also checked the server logs but have not found anything that might be helpful.

The issue breaks the user interface quite severely, making it basically unusable, but have no idea where to look for possible causes.

The issue was fixed in Release 2025. Aras removed all Release 2024 content from their homepage. If possible, use Release 2025. It has the same stupid and dubious user restrictions than Release 2024, but regarding the features itself, Release 2025 is much better than Release 2024.

If necessary (and if Aras is OK with it) I can upload the ZIP package for the patch in this thread.

Sorry for my delay in response. This is a new issue. I am getting this error with a new installation of Innovator 2024. I am debating starting fresh with a 2025 installation to see if this issue is solved, but I would like to know if there is a fix.

Is there a fix for Community Edition users? I am using community edition as a trial and have a fresh installation, but am seeing this issue which is really limiting the usefulness of the tool.

What do you want to skip and why do you want to do that? "onBeforeGet" just influence the search filter. You tell the server what data you need and it then decides if you have permission to get it. If it wouldn´t be that way, it onBeforeGet Methods would the perfect way to hack Innovator....

Variability Management

Hello All,
I created the rule inside the rule editor for a particular variability item. When I try to look this particular rule in the database perspective, there is one column named as 'definition' in the VM_RULE table. This column is mandatory column and it has the XML data of that particular rule.

My question here is, I want to know the sequence of methods from UI side which are getting triggered too create such XML. Could you please help me out here ?

Why you want to understand the sequence? want to modify any code? What is your requirement?

definition column contains rule which you have enter in rule editor with xml format (condition is converting in to xml tag).

Need new license for Innovator 11SP12

We had an old server fail. We have a backup of it but do not have the MAC address from the previous machine. Therefore, or license doesn't work on the new machine with the restored backup. I need someone from Aras to reach out so that I can get a replacement license that works with the new MAC address. Otherwise, we lose a lot of important data.

In summary, on the same article level, I can search for 4 articles common to a parent article.

My basic requirement is to be able to find a final parent article from two shared child articles. I'm in the first child article with my related TGV. Example, I am in the bearing article and I enter in variable the name of the article 2 a shaft and I want to find the motor which uses its 2 components).I created a variable to dynamically enter the article names (Part_1 and Part_2). Here's my modified query. The result is incorrect; I must have made a mistake in my query. Thanks.

Hi there,

You should be able to build a query definition where you have a top level parent article with duplicated relationships to child articles like the example below (I'm using Part BOM relationships for simplicity but it should work the same with your custom data model).

Each of these child articles can have separate conditions, and then you can include a condition on the parent article where you specify that it has at least one instance of each child article like the example below.

Let me know if this works for your use case.
