how to hide or disable the My Innovator in TOC?

we would like to hide or disable the My Innovator category for all the users .. how is that possible?

You can set the identity in TOC Access for each item type under My Innovator to Administrators from World. So that it will be visible only to Administrators and not to normal users.

Hi Selvlennox,

To accomplish this you would edit all of the ItemTypes found within the My Innovator category and remove the TOC Access for all of those Items. The TOC is dynamically populated every time it is loaded, and if there are no ItemTypes within the My Innovator category the category will not show up.

Hello Michelle,

You can delete the relationship from this structure before you apply the item by using mainItem.removeRelationship(relItem);. The removeRelationship function expects an argument of an Item object, so you will first need to get the item you want to delete. Presumably, you're performing some kind of check to determine when the item should be deleted, so your code could look something like this:

Item relFiles = mainItem.getRelationships("Detail_File");

for (int i = 0; i < relFiles.getItemCount(); i++)

{

Item relFile = relFiles.getItemByIndex(i);

// do your logic on relFile here

// if (relFile.getProperty("XXX") != "XXX")

mainItem.removeRelationship(relFile);

}

Hi,

Suppose there is an account = Marry, I login as Marry in my office computer and have not logout. If I login as Marry in my home computer, I want to let my office computer's Marry out.

How Can I implement this in aras.

Some Clues I found:

1, There is a sql server table whose name is application.ACTIVEUSER

2, there is a config in InnovatorServerConfig.xml which is <operating_parameter key="enable_session_time_out" value="true"/>

3, we can set some system event method when user login or logout.

But I can not combine them to implement our functions. Can you give me some help?

Hello,

We don't have any projects that outline this specific use case, but it should be possible to implement something along these lines.

To begin with, you'll want to create a new System Event (TOC > Administration > System Events > System Events). There are a few different events here that you can use, but you'll want to create a new one to run on SuccessfulLogin.

There's an existing dialog that you can use to end active users' sessions which you can find in the main menu of the main window under Tools > Admin > Licenses > License Manager.

I'd recommend taking a look at the HTML of this dialog as it contains examples of queries you can use against the Innovator server to both get a list of users logged in and to force a user to log out. You can find this file in your code tree under (\Innovator\Client\scripts\Licensing\LicManager.html). You should be able to use the queries in that file as a basis for creating your own Method to check if the user is already logged in and to log them out if they are.

Error Logging into Aras 11

The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on the local server machine, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "RemoteOnly". Create New Item is disabled in Product

If you look at the product itemtype definition, you can check the Can Add tab and see that it is given to a specific identity (CM) you need to be in this identity somehow to have this "create new item" button enabled

I am evaluating Aras for intermediate storage of PLM data during data exchange. As part of this use case I want to create multiple revisions of the Parts even without releasing the previous one.

I explored Aras documentation and tried various configuration changes but I am not able to achieve this behaviour.

In this regard I have following questions:

1) Why does Aras enforce me to release previous Revision(A) before I can create new Revision (B)? Why cant I have multiple revisions as working revisions?

2) I understand this is OOTB behaviour, is there a way to configure or customize this behavior to suit my needs?

INNOVATOR FRAMEWORK - Workflow Activity cloned

In Aras 11 SP5 I found when I complete task of the a2 along path(return) to a1, the Activity will cloned and add two new record (a1 and a2).

But I found some activity cannot cloned the new record in Activity, why?? and the system will show "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error

how to fix the issue?

yes you should be able.

You need to call google chart from the reports method and make sure you keep it as-is through the xslt.

I haven't tried though.

But you can also make use of .net framework charting library which would allow you to not need the internet connection.

Aras uses UTC as a neutral datetime. So depending on the moment of the day you set the date, the UTC can be different

You can run a conversion like this :

Why do you care about the SQL date? it is saved correctly with a neutral date that's it.

Give us a clear example of a datetime selected and how it appears in SQL.

Hi, I am using Aras Innovator for my company and I have come across an issue regarding the life cycles and workflows not updating for items.

I have a Life Cycle Map and Workflow Map defined. I also have a specific ItemType defined that references the Life Cycle Map and Workflow Map. When I create items of that specific ItemType, a workflow and life cycle for that item is created. I can see this when I click on Views tab on the interface of an item.

However when I update the Life Cycle Map and Workflow Map, the previous items' lifecycles and workflows don't update. When I click on Views and select LifeCycle or Workflow, they don't change. Only when I create a new item does it use the new template. However I would like to change the life cycles and workflows of the old items to match the new templates.

Is there a way to do this? I have a few hundred items that need to be updated. Any help is appreciated.

So I created a new Method called " GetControlledItem" and pasted everthing from the site you gave me.

I modifed my Method to this:

Item ControlledItem = this.apply("GetControlledItem");
hd.setID(ControlledItem);
hd.setAttribute("select","item_number,description,resolution");
hd=hd.apply();

I get error "CS1002, ; expected"

I guess I'm not calling the "GetControlledItem" Method correctly within my Method.

By the way, I think I owe you more than one cheesesteak!!
