New free version ...

I have heard they still plan to provide free versions. But I assume the next one only will be a later version of Innovator 12. Of course free users are of lowest priority, so future is not predictable. 

I assume there were no updates last year simply because they were too distracted. Customer projects more or less take all their resources. You can see this by complete disappearance of any Aras personal inside this forum and the fewer amount of published articles (most of them are marketing).

but you kwow, first they start with "open source PLM" without releasing any source.
then they told free version every year and, till now, no new version is appeared.

It's becoming hard to belive them ... 

they always says don't want become like 3ds/ptc ... but in the fact, in this moment, they act like them.

the source was never offered as part of the open source - Aras has always been clear about that.  The core is managed by Aras alone while the data model, code tree, and API are open for the users to manipulate as they desire.   

I'm also wondering when the new open release will come out.

No, they haven´t stopped it yet, but it still will require some patience.

At the moment the company is some kind of submarine that was hit by depth charges but survived and now sneaks around chasing some aircraft carriers.

They are really a bit too silent right now. Hardly any marketing or activity in this forum. But sooner or later they will appear again.

Just like Microsoft EOL community version of Sharepoint, Definitely Aras open version offer was over, and hosted version will stop soon. These day, they provide Innovator Enterprise and planning to re-architect it

Aras released Innovator 25 yesterday but there is still no new open release in sight. I still believe we will get one one day. 

I guess "late 2022" more translates to "in spring 2023" cause it´s a better date regarding marketing purposes.
AJ gave us the most accurate date he had. Even partners I asked didn´t know more.

But it´s maybe not bad if we try to keep this discussion active so they see that there is some interest. 

I am also watching this space with bated breath! I do believe that the open version is very valuable marketing tool for Aras. Nothing as good as word by mouth and growing a community of Aras literate individuals.
