Hi community,

I am not familiar with the mentioned github project and cannot help with the shown error message.

But: Aras has integrated this feature in Innovator 26!

Of course this is right now a subscriber-only service pack, so free-users still have to wait.

I personally use a simple onLoad Method for adding tooltips and placeholders. It does the job.
But I like the new Aras variant with the "?" and "Show more" options. Offers a lot of potential to integrate as much helpful information as possible.

Sorry for the late response, I just logged into the account this was posted under. I have not figured out the issue I am having yet. I did notice that I don't have the report added to the ItemType ItemType. That could be part of my problem.

Did anyone find a solution to this? I have it working on one itemtype and not on another (which is giving the above error).

I cleared all of the Help fields and only have text for item_number. Still have the fault.

I receive an error when loading the form.

Internal Error: event handler failed.

Technical Message: Event handler failed with message: Unable to set property 'title' of undefined or null reference.

Hi Nathan

I installed ARAS 11 SP10 and verified this and it is working for me.

Step 1: Copied the method to ARAS manually (method name : FRM_SetHelpText)

Step 2: Open Part Item type and configured help text in Properties tab

Step 3: Open Part Form and added FRM_SetHelpText in On Form Populated event

Step 4: Relogin to application

Can you verify this once

I guess it is because the import tool available in ARAS site is for V12 version. If you have the installation CD, check for this import utility

Thank you for your help with this. I guess I do not have access to the database to perform this. When I try to select a database I receive an error message.

faultstring: at Aras.Tools.SolutionUpgrade.CItemHelper._getDBList(String url)

faultdetail: '=' is an unexpected token. The expected token is ';'. Line 180, position 116.

faultcode: -98

We are using Aras 11 SP10.

Hi Nathan

Follow below steps

Download the package from https://github.com/ProcessPLM/Aras-Mouse-Over-Help

Download the Import/Export Utilities from https://www.aras.com/en/support/downloads

Unzip and navigate to \PackageImportExportUtilities.zip\PackageImportExportUtilities\Import folder and run import.exe

Provide servername, database,username, password and click login

In Path select imports.mf file from mouse over help package

Select the available package and select type = Merge and Mode = Thorough Mode

Click Import

If it does not work, confirm your aras version

Did you imported the package from https://github.com/ProcessPLM/Aras-Mouse-Over-Help or just copied the method from this package ?
