I know how to apply a Saved Search to and have it accessible on the TOC, just not a search dialog

RE: Saved Search - Search Dialog of a Relationship

Thanks that works, appreciate it.

Also, I'm assuming there's a way that I can create a form method that makes the specific saved search the default for the search dialog, when certain constraints are met in the parent Item form.

Where is that saved search housed though from a data perspective? How would I call that saved search in a method?

RE: Saved Search - Search Dialog of a Relationship

Hi shwnhlgn,

Try the following:

Create a Saved Search in the main grid, just as you would if you wanted to add it to the TOC.

Navigate to Administration > Saved Searches in the TOC.

Locate the Saved Search you just created (you can filter on ItemType and managed_by_id if there are a lot).

Open the Saved Search for editing and set the Location to Search Dialog.

Save, unlock, and close the Saved Search item.

Log out of Aras and log back in.

Confirm whether your Saved Search now applies to the search dialog.

If the Saved Search does not automatically apply to the search dialog, you can select the search from the Saved Searches droplist in the search dialog toolbar.
