I am using Aras Innovator 12 SP 9.

I created On server side(onBeforeVersion Event) method to deal with this situation .

Innovator inn=this.getInnovator();
string is_current=this.getProperty("is_current");
if(string.Equals(is_current,"1"))
{

}
else{

return inn.newError("You can not modify old Generation of Part.Please refresh Or Close and open again Part");

}
return this;

thanks for the detailed description! I wonder how people are able to edit the previous version? Which Innovator version do you use? Something between 12SP14 and I22?
