Thanks for expanding on the use case. This seems like one instance where you can&#39;t work around accessing the Vault. I&#39;m not aware of a way to generalize access to the local Vault Path like you&#39;re looking for, but as LORD is a subscriber, I&#39;d recommend reaching out to our support team ( <a href="mailto:support@aras.com">support@aras.com</a> ) to see if they might have done something like this in the past.

I writing a general utility for work to correct issues where business users have foobar&#39;d document numbers and file names. We have document standards and at times business users wittingly or unwittingly insert bad characters or make up non-standard names for documents and files. The utility will scan for these documents, update the &quot;item_number&quot; and grind through related files to also correct the filenames. This of course entails updating database entries as well as physical filenames in the vault directories.

The utility currently works by opening the VaultServerConfig.xml file using XMLDocument object and reading the LocalPath node to find the vault path, but that requires someone setting the Innovator physical code tree path to find VaultServerConfig.xml. Ideally I would like to make the tool more resilient/flexible to insure it adapts to any Innovator instance by reading the vault path (and any config values) dynamically from the running instance. The only setting the tool should need is the URL to the Innovator instance.

Hope I explained myself without too much detail.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I&#39;m not sure it&#39;s easily possible to get the local path to the vault without directly reading the XML. Could you let us know what you&#39;re trying to do with the local vault path? You don&#39;t typically need to manually access the Vault, so there might be another way to achieve your use case.
