Inserting an item type field to custom form

Question

Hi , 
 I have a form which is independent of any Item Type.(I am calling this form on an action on the main grid of another Item type) 
 On the form I have a field which is of type Item. 
 However when I call the form from the action I am unable to see the field control , only the Label is visible(Demo). 
 Please help.(I am trying this on the SP14 Aras).

Hi. 
 what data source do you use for your Item field? 
 Maybe this trick will do the job. Let&acute;s assume your item field shall link to an Item of type "Manufacturer". 
 Add your Form to the ItemType "Manufacturer Part", but with display priority "999". This way you can use properties of Manufactuer Part but the Form will not be used for the Manufacturer Part ItemType.
