thanks for the tip! I can confirm that your solution works. I have successfully tested it on 11SP15. 'Data Template' seems to be something new. I posted my first answers while I still was using 11SP11 that doesn´t contain this option. Your answer came to the right time! It´s in addition a good hint that I maybe should read the latest manuals...

You can also get the right click menu to work, if you set the "Data template" correct it should work. I can you both the left click and the the contextmenu/view to open.

I have the following in my data template:

{"id": "{part.id}", "type": "part"}

Well, my Innovator SP11 doesn´t even have the right click context menu. Maybe you should downgrade? :-)

But I somehow think this is an SP12 sepecific behaviour or some kind of preview to a function intended to work in a later release.

The QueryBuilder and TreeGridView are features, were a lot of change is happening in each service pack. Previous versions already contain many code, that will be used in later versions. So there are features inside, were you see that they are there, but you cannot use them yet in the UI.

Hi,

I was using text, changing it to item and defining the type and property allowed me to open the items by left clicking on the blue item link. The right click context menu is still greyed out. Thanks for the tip, now I can use the tree to browse the structure, though ideally I'd like to be able use the context menu as well.

I can't open the parts either, they have the same greyed out menu.

Can you confirm if you are able to open the part items (with the cog icon) or are all items greyed out?
