&lt;p&gt;Effective May 24, we are officially transitioning from FTP to Aras MFT. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to providing a more secure, efficient, and user-friendly file handling experience.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h1 id="mcetoc_1iq91598e2"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:75%;"&gt;Requesting an Aras MFT Account&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/h1&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;If you are unsure whether your organization has an Aras MFT account, please reach out to your Portal Admin (listed under Our Account&amp;gt; Team tab). If you would like to request an Aras MFT account&amp;nbsp;please contact&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="/community/subscriber-portal/p/new-support-incident" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;Aras Support&lt;/a&gt;, and include &amp;quot;Aras MFT&amp;quot; in the name of your Support Incident. Aras Support will help to initiate the Aras MFT account creation process. Once this has been done, follow the steps below to activate your Aras MFT account.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h1 id="mcetoc_1iq91598e2"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:75%;"&gt;Activating your&amp;nbsp;Aras MFT&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/h1&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Accessing the site requires credentials that will be provided through a Welcome Email (see screenshot below).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;You&amp;nbsp;will receive an email from &lt;a id="" href="mailto:mft-no-reply@aras.com"&gt;mft-no-reply@aras.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Click &amp;quot;create your password now&amp;quot;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Set a secure password&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Go to&amp;nbsp;the URL provided in the welcome email&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Use the username provided in the welcome email and password set in previous steps&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;You should see the same files you have access to on the FTP site&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Share the credentials with others in your organization&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Navigate to Subscribers&amp;gt; [Your Account Name]&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;You will have the option to upload a file or a folder, and add new folder or file directly into your space.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;li&gt;If you&amp;#39;ve forgotten your password or cannot locate it, please use the &amp;quot;forgot your password&amp;quot; option in the login page. &lt;li&gt;A dialog window will open for you to enter the email addresses of the individuals you like to add to your extended Support team.

&lt;li&gt;Each person will receive an email notification that they have been added to your organization&amp;rsquo;s extended Support team.&lt;span style="font-family:inherit;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Having problems adding an external Support team member, try the following suggestions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;This email address is associated with your organization. &lt;/strong&gt;Please invite this individual to join your internal team using the Invite Your Team action on the Team tab. If you believe the email address is not associated with your organization, please contact your account owner to resolve this domain conflict.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Too many Support users - An Aras subscriber may have up to 10 Admin + Support users who can directly contact Aras Support.&lt;/strong&gt; External team members count towards your total Support user limit. Make sure the number of internal Support team members and extended Support team members does not exceed 10 people. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;This individual does not have an Aras Portal account and cannot be added as a member of your Extended Team. &lt;/strong&gt;Please ask this individual to &lt;a href="/community/subscriber-portal/p/new-account"&gt;create an Aras Portal account&lt;/a&gt; and try again after they can access the Aras Portal.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;This individual is not properly setup as a Partner. &lt;/strong&gt;Please have this individual contact your account owner or &lt;a href="mailto:partners@aras.com"&gt;partners@aras.com&lt;/a&gt; to resolve this issue.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;

This article provides guidelines to make the process as smooth as possible.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In general, keep the BDS version updated. Earlier versions may not be suitable for later versions of the Aras Innovator Platform. Moreover, later versions contain improvements that, in general, improve the CI/CD experience.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In preparing for the update, it is essential to note and address several concerns as listed below.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All SIT instances will be lost if the update involves updating the infrastructure (Aras continues to reduce the frequency of updates that involve updating infrastructure.)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At some point in the process, switching to the new platform may be necessary, in which case a pause may be required in development.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Depending on the update and potentially an upgrade of the Aras Innovator platform, the project team may also need to perform refactoring.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The update requires little planning. Typically, you select the latest BDS version, and when an infrastructure update is not required, you can perform the update directly. The steps are:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When an infrastructure update is required, please make a request for Aras to complete the update. When Aras completes work on this ticket, the project team will need to update the relevant branches in git.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;An infrastructure update may not require a maintenance window to update the Production deployment. Aras will schedule a maintenance window with the Cloud Services Coordinator, if a maintenance window is needed. The maintenance window will cover updates to the various SIT, UAT, STG, and PRD-type deployments. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cases:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Case 1: BDS update only, no infrastructure update, no platform upgrade. Make a request.
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;You will be able to update without making a request when a self-service version of the tools is available.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Case 2: BDS and infrastructure update only, no platform upgrade. Make a request to Aras.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Case 3: Aras Innovator Platform upgrade. A BDS update is almost always required in this case and may include an infrastructure update.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When the BDS version has been updated, the implementation team should verify compatibility, which may require merging customizations from various branches and refactoring to complete the process.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When a platform upgrade is completed for a system that already has a production deployment, the merging process must consider that the new baseline from the update includes all customizations already in production.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Aras DevOps provides a toolset that operates within a predefined architecture. For example, deployments originate only from the central repository, not from Forks.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Subscribers must comply with service description policies by providing approvals for various types of deployments to validate and verify implementation.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Subscribers must comply with service description policies that require maintaining a production branch that accurately represents the implementation in production.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Subscribers should adopt recommended practices to enhance collaboration with Aras and ease the maintenance of a production branch that accurately represents production implementation. Aras DevOps implements a version control system based on git, which requires good branching practices to maximize the implementation team&amp;rsquo;s effectiveness and efficiency.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conventions and terms&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lowercase letters denote branches in this article, while uppercase letters represent deployment types. For example, sit is a branch, and SIT is a deployment type.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Terms&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Branch:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;A branch tracks the changes made after a specified commit in history.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Commit:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;An identification for a specific collection of changes or additions to one or more files.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Deployment&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;strategy: New or Delta (Deploy or update) that will create a new instance of the solution or update an existing instance of the solution.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Deployment Type:&lt;/strong&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;SIT is used to test changes and approve system qualifications.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;UAT is used to test changes and approve functional qualifications.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;STG is used to test changes and approve data and production qualifications.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;PRD is used to denote the production deployment.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Baseline:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;A baseline consists of a database and code tree backup representing a particular deployment package.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;An implementation complete with customizations, a standard release of the Aras Innovator Platform, optional Aras Innovator Apps, and Language packages.
