Aras @ SWW13 - A Recap

I just met up with Marc Lind, fresh off the airplane from Orlando, who gave me the inside scoop on SolidWorks World 2013. Marc reflected on the great energy at the Aras booth and all through the conference, and how delightful it was to catch up with friends and colleagues from all over the world.

Marc told me one hot topic that kept coming up was the increasing complexity of products and the need to manage mechanical and electronic components, as well as software and firmware. This came as no surprise to Aras. In fact, we started off the week by announcing two new capabilities in Aras EPLM - our enterprise PLM solution built right on top of SolidWorks EPDM.

From the floor of the conference, Aras announced the availability of Requirements Management and Office Connector for Aras EPLM. Both of these offerings go a long way to help manage today's dynamic product development processes. The Aras team was excited to share these new offerings and so were Aras / SolidWorks users and partners.

The conference also gave us the opportunity to spend time with many of our partners, including, Fisher/Unitech, Javelin, RazorLeaf and more, as well as the many users and resellers interested in Aras EPLM.

When Marc wasn't attending presentations and receptions he was at the Aras booth, located next to our friends at MakerBot. There was a constant stream of SolidWorks EPDM users checking out the new functionality of Aras EPLM. Many realized the need for enterprise wide functionality in product development, manufacturing, quality and the supply chain.

Take a look at some of the images to get the feel of the environment and energy at SolidWorks World. If you weren't able to see a demonstration of the new functionality of Aras EPLM, be sure to register for the webcasts on Requirements Management for EPLM and Office Connector for Aras EPLM.
