The addition of four new banned substances relative the Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) on the horizon and the new substances banned by the Restriction, Evaluation, Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) legislation twice every year create real challenges for the companies that are unprepared. Other compliance changes under discussion to the Dodd-Frank DRC Conflict Mineral legislation may also further restrict raw material sourcing and the supply chain in the years ahead, further complicating component management.
