PLM-ALM Integration - Gaining Traction

I recently talked about the commitment Aras has made in PLM-ALM integration.  Ultimately, this effort is focused on cross-discipline coordination to support systems development.  Putting it simply - we are connecting the mechanical design guys with the software application guys!  In today's age of ever increasing electronic integration into everyday products we need to leave the "over-the-wall" engineering concept behind.  Integration in the design process is key to a well built product.

Earlier this summer, a new ProSTEP iViP implementer-forum was created to focus on OSLC for PLM-ALM integration.  To support this new forum multiple teams were created to focus on a number of use cases. The Aerospace team is comprised of Aras, Airbus and IBM.

In partnership with Airbus and IBM we have been working together to create the reference architecture for PLM and ALM integration.  As with all journeys, this new program begins with one step.  We are excited to be working with two industry giants to develop capabilities that will impact our industry and the products that you and I touch on a daily basis.
