Hello,
I am desiring in most applications to float to effective or released generations rather than latest generations. This results in released engineering BOM's children components floating to the latest generation, which may be preliminary. I have preliminary parts present in a released baseline while the child component is changing as such. Is there a way to configure to float to the "released" or "effective" not "latest" generation? I want a released BOM with a child under change to show the released, effective, generation "in change" not show the "preliminary" part.
Am I seeing preliminary parts in the BOM relationship of a released assembly simply because I have the rights to see that generation? Or is there a specific PLM/Aras intent to have released assemblies contain unreleased/preliminary components by floating to latest generation in this relationship?
Thanks for your time in this matter.
Regards,
J
Hi,
The Released/effective/latest filter only apply on a part basis, not on a full bom. This is the role of the change manager to make sure that a BOM is not released with parts in preliminary states. We could also add some logic (method) during the release process to avoid that.
