Is it a way to include content in pdf files in the search result in Vaultsearch ?

If you are using Windows Search 4.0 for the vault indiexing, you'll need to add an "IFILTER" for any non-Microsoft file formats that you wnat indexed. I had alot of problems with PDF, because the available IFILTER at the time was 32-bit only, and our Windows Server is running 64-bit.
Northridge is just about to release a very cool search add-on for Aras, using Lucene search engine. It indexes PDF, and lots of formats http://tika.apache.org/0.7/formats.html Besides the additional file formats, Northridge has configured the Search to include all Vault files and all database meta-data, and the resulting user interface and navigation tools are superb. Saw a demo a couple weeks ago, it's outstandading. This will be an openly distributed add-on for Aras. Should be up on our Community Site in early January, but if you drop me an email at [email protected] I'll forward your email to Al Cole at Northridge and He may send you the current build to start testing.
