I applogize if this has aready been asked, but we are new here.
We have created a project template. Now what we need to do is to create a document template such that when the project is instantiated, the process documents can be instantiated at the same time as the project is instantiated. At present it seems that one can only denote that an activity in the project template has an output that is a document, but there is no way that we have found to define document.
Any thoughts how this might be done?

I'm not sure I completely understand what you are trying to do so sorry if I miss the mark.
I presume you are saying that when the Project is created from a template and the template denotes that Activities must have a Document attached you want to be able to create the "Empty" document with some characteristics like the Classification already set?
In the Project Item Type Client Events there is a relationship to a method called "OnCreateNewProject". This takes the template item and copies it into the Project format, adding new activities etc as required.
I would create a new Item Type to capture the document details that you wanted to define and the activity names that these documents would apply to.
I would edit this method to interrogate which of the Activities needed documents and lookup the document template item type (the one you just created above) and find the details of the documents that needed to be created and do that here.
Then you should find that the project and the documents are all created at the same time.
