Right now I am just fooling with things on a test install instance of 9.2 as preparation and learning on our way to a production instance (hopefully 9.3). There are a few things about the default form settings I would like to improve. One nitpicky thing is that some of the fields are not aligned on the X and/or Y axis where they were meant to be (a pixel or two off). It is a little thing, but I want to present a very clean and simple user interface to the users once going to production.
Okay, so my question. One thing I attempted to do this morning was bulk update any field labels to 9pt via an "update" statement on field table where the font_size value was set as 8pt. For this change to take effect in mass, I probably need to restart the IIS application instance to clear any caching.
What I was wondering, is there a way to do something similar via AML versus directly hitting the database like I did? I am guessing that making changes via direct DB access would not be best practice given that the API should have safeguards in place for data integrity sake.
Right now I am just learning, so any thoughts and input appreciated however related to the subject.

Thinking about this on second thought, I would think under most circumstances, changing the underlying data via direct database access is not a good idea. I'll try and learn the AML methods/techniques available to me. There are some things that are just easier to script in bulk, and learning AML for this would be helpful. That all said, exploring the data structures at a low level has helped me understand some of how Aras works, but we are still in test mode so that is no problem.
