Have a look at the "Platform Specifications" document for some ideas on scaleability.
Multi-site deployments can be supported with Replicated Vaults for improved file access times. Normally everyone logs into the same Web Server somewhere in the world (say your HQ) and response time is dependent on bandwidth and the Server (hardware) capabilities.
Aras maintains a CRM for use by the Aras Partners. This is hosted by Aras in the USA and is accessed by all 70+ partners via the internet. While it does not have replicated vaults it certainly supports multi-site access with no additional setup from the user perspective.
