SUPPORT Q&A - Blue screen appears when method view

The issue is that some clients are unable to download the ArasEditCab.cab properly.

If you approach your regional Aras Partner they should be able to help you.

Hello Brian,

I have exactly the same problem. I have tried a lot to get it working. During my tries I got all described behaviours:

1st: the white window after allowing to install the .cab

2nd: the blue screen with the red cross

3nd (actual behaviour): blue screen without red cross

I have permanentely allowed to download the ArasEditCab.cab. But now I always get the blue screen in the editor window (without this red cross).

The ArasEditCab.cab is not listed in the Add-On list (does it have to be listed?).

My envirionment:

- Win 7 (64bit)

- IE9 (Version: 9.0.8112.16421 / Updateversion: 9.0.3)

- Aras 9.3.0

- .NET Framework 4.0 (like delivered with Win 7)

- All Add-Ons disabled

-  "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" is active. Actually I tried already with minimal security envirionment and it also didn't work.

The curious is, that my colleague has exactly the same environment and he got it running. We also tried on my station and both didn't got it running. We run through all IE options and set the same checks. But no chance.

I read through all the posts I found in the forum regarding this topic, but there is no exact solution mentioned. As you mentioned a "patch" I would also appreciate to get it. Is it a patch which needs to get installed somehow to get it working, or are only some dependent checks in the IE options relevant? If only the checks are relevant it would be good to mention it here.

Rob, This issue has been resolved in Aras Innovator 9.3.0 SP1. For folks running the prior version can locate the patch under the community project section titled "Method Editor - Fix failure to load editor". www.aras.com/.../project-view.aspx If you are unable to download let me know. I have Innovator 9.3.0 with SP2 (on Windows 7 64bit) but I have the same issue of the blu screen in the Method Editor. Does anyone know if I can install the patch anyway? Or other suggestions?

If you have the working Aras innovator server then copy the arasedit.cab file from that server in to the your server and then try it .But if you are first time install then send me the mail on [email protected] i will send you araseditcab file.
