SUPPORT Q&A - "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format" when creating IIS virtual directories

Ming - Tuesday, February 7, 2012 5:38 AM:

Hello all,

I'm trying to install Aras on my home computer for a closer look and am running into this error when the installation program is creating the IIS virtual directories:

Operation failed with 0x807000B
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format

This error appears with every directory it's trying to create. Still, when I check in the IIS manager the directories have been installed. Can anybody tell me what this error is?

My setup:

Windows 7 Home Premium, sp1, 64 bit

MS SQLEXPRESS Server 2008 R2

Internet explorer 9

Thanks, Ming

Hi

I have the same problem:

My Setup:
Aras Innovator Version 9.3.0 Build 5663
MS SQL 2008 R2
Windows 2008 R2 64-Bit SP1

Install Directory: D:Aras
IIS Basic Authentication installed
SMTP Server installed
Set IIS Manager, Application Pools, Advanced Settings, Enable 32-bit applications -> TRUE

The error is:
Operation failed with 0x8007000B
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.

Any advice how to troubleshoot this?

I was able to solve the problem by myself.

I'm not completely sure, but I had to install some roles or features on the Windows 2008 R2 Server.

I think it was the .Net Framework 3.5.1

(what I think is a bit weird that it doesn't come by default from microsoft)
