Hi,
I am working the ECNs, and I am having a hard time getting this logic to work:
At any step in the ECN workflow/lifecycle process, a user would like to be able to cancel the entire process AND revert the associated affected items back to the state they were in before the process began. This includes removing the "Changes Pending" check box. I know an ECN workflow can be cancelled, but OOTB, this doesn't seem to do anything to the ECN Lifecycle.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Bill

Hi Bill,
It is not an easy thing to cancel and ECN and revse the changes. The ECN is not designed that way.
An ECN should not be initiated unless you are sure you want to go through with the changes. Once you enter the "Update documents" activity the best thing is to continue through the ECN. In fact it is really your only option. If you change your mind about the change then the best thing to do is to not actually commit any of the planned changes but to still complete the ECN.
Part of the ECN process is planning the ECN. If you are thinking that you want to cancel an ECN once it is committed then your ECN planning process is flawed and really should be reviewed.
Before you get to the "Update Documents" activity you can cancel the workflow and delete the ECN as there have been no actual revision changes to the Affected Items at this stage.
Hope this helps,
Brian.
