I have tried unsuccessfully to create a new workflow for releasing a new part, and have followed all directions, but when I go to promote the part to submit it does not notify, nor does it show up in anyones in basket. I can release it, but it needs to be reviewed prior to release. I have all the workflow promotions on activate at each stage, and have assignments at the review stage and have added this to the workflow tab for Part, but have not been able to get the workflow to initiate. Also there are issues with ECN workflows to promote from planning to review. This was set up initially by a consultant, and has not been touched since. This is the first time we have tried to use this, and are having a lot of difficulty. If I could get some help, I would appreciate it.

Hi.
Is the workflow process instance locked? (Open the part, click View/Worfklow in the window's menu to view the instance). InBasket does not include assignments for a locked workflow process.

Hi SamsAn,
I pulled up a part and when trying to view the workflow, nothing comes into the box, yet when I go to the item type and check the workflow tab it shows the correct workflow, so I have no clue what I am doing wrong. As I said before the trainer that came down had set up the workflows with me as a customization, due to some of our documents are not under change management, and we don't require an ECN to change these, but they still have to go through a review workflow. I also have problems with trying to promote an ECN with the workflow that was set up. I have looked through my training material, but can't find where I have made a mistake.
Thanks for anymore help that you can offer!

Hi.
The behavior has a reason. Please note first, if a workflow map is changed, then the workflow processes created before the changes based on the workflow map will not include the changes.
For InBasket. If a workflow map activity is in Active or Pending state and the activity has an assignment for an identity that includes your current logged in user and the workflow process is unlocked and in Active state then InBasket should dislpay the activity. So, to figure out why it is not displayed, please, check the pointed conditions.

Could the problem be that the workflows were promoted to "Production"? Is there a way to go back to original configuration for these workflows? Nothing still shows up in my Inbasket, nor does it show up in the group that the document was assigned to. They had originally showed "In Work", but I promoted them to I thought was a released state. So I gather that I messed up the workflow. There were changes made after the workflow was originally created by the Aras Rep, but that was just to assign a different group to the assignment tab.
Sorry to keep requesting help, but I thought that I understood how this works in regards to work flows and life cycles, but am getting more confused as I try and figure out what I am doing wrong.
Thanks,
Spolen

"Production" state may cause the problem. Does this state have special permissions (open your Life Cycle Map, select "Production" state to view the perms)?
A way to go back to original configuration for these workflows exists. Just login as admin, select an item (part or ecn or something else) in Items Grid, click Main MenuToolsAdminSet Default Life Cycle.
Did you check the conditions poited in my prev post?

Yes I checked the conditions in your previous post and I could not locate a "Production" state to view, wherein may be one of the problems, but still have the issue that the workflow for each item type is not working. I did try and set the workflow to the original configuration and got an error message "Set Default Lifecycle Failed", so I think that there are more issues going on than originally thought.
