SUPPORT Q&A - Using a sequence to automatically assign part numbers

Hi

We are just starting to implement a PLM system using ARAS Innovator.

Can someone point me in the right direction for how to use a 'Sequence' to automatically set the 'Part Number' field for a new part?

Where should I be looking in the documentation to work out how to do this?

The built in Help is not very useful.

Hi Gavin,

• Replace the Item_number property format from string to sequence. 
• Select the sequence you've created
• uncheck the "required" option (as the sequence is created after creation)

You should be all set !
