SOLUTION - PROGRAM MANAGEMENT - Generation of new Revision_id of document in Item type as ECN.

ratnesh - Monday, April 23, 2012 8:02 AM:

When i create a new Item type just like ECN, then execute it item type ecn shows its state RELEASED and document used in that item type ECN set to supersedeed state with old revision BUT its new Revision  &  new item  number are not shown in ECN type item.

Can you maybe rephrase your question?

Hello Ratnesh,

I think you should check your life cycle and work flow also and and these two also you should use on ecn item type create by you, if its not working then tell me what stages you take in lifecycle and workflow its good when you give snapshot of both.

Abhishek

Hello Yoann,

Thanks for your fast reply,

My problem is that I created a new itemtype just like ECN and execute it. It completed successfully but the problem is that  after released my itemtype (which is just like ECN)  does not produce "NEW Number" and "NEW Revision" only "OLD Revision" and "OLD Numbers" are visible.

if you have any idea about this then please share it.

Thanks in advance

Ratnesh

Hello,

The life cycle map of the ECN has methods hooked to the paths that handle the creation of the new revisions and the promotions of the new and old revisions. Have you reused the existing ECN life cycle map or created your own? If you have created your own, have you reviewed those methods and hooked them to your life cycle map?

hello ,

you should check your lifecycle and workflow stages again and also should be check that they are attached in ecn itemtype created by you, if your problem not solve then give me the snapshot of lifecycle and workflow. One more thing , in ECN item type you should check also that what revision you take and also give me the snapshot of your itemtype front page.

I hope your problem should be solved if check step by step properly.

Abhishek
