Apologies, I know this gets asked often here, but I've checked everything I can find on the internet, and am still getting the failed to initialize error.
I've run sdns.exe multiple times, and the log files always says it was a success (both deleting old policy and creating new one)
Server- Windows Server 2008 r2 64 bit, IIS 7
Clients tried- Win7 Pro, Win7 HP (both 64 bit), and the server connecting at localhost, all using IE9.
I've gone through the client configuration guide and set my internet settings as described. I've also pushed them even further open, and fully opened intranet settings (we're in an intranet setting here)
I've tried taking down the firewall, no difference.
I've successfully accessed a DLL (and downloaded it) by linking directly to it on client computers, through IE9
I've set IIS 7 virtual directory settings to allow reading and scripting, and I tried it with executables on and off.
What am I missing?

Update: I am able to access the login window from my laptop, but not from the server (by connecting to localhost/.../) or my desktop computer. I've matched exactly the internet settings in IE9. Both have had sdns.exe run, and msxml4 installed :-/
I now have a new set of issues from the laptop. I'll try to see what differences in the two machines can cause the above issue later, and will report back if I find anything.
The only thing I can think of is that the laptop is running 7 Home Premium, the desktop is running 7 Pro, and the server is running 2008 r2.

Hi Matthew,
A couple of simple things to check.
Is the server in the Trusted Sites? This is a common miss.
Are you accessing via IE 64bit? Only 32 bit is supported.
There should be no difference between 7 Home, 7 Pro and 2008 R2 as far as access. It is all down to the IE client settings.
Have you been running the SDNS as administrator?
Have you been running the SDNS from a local drive on the machine you are setting up?
Hope this helps,
Brian.
