Hello Jennifer,
We are running ARAS 9.0.1. This is an old version that is also causing us problems because it can only run on IE7 so for windows 7 we are forced to use MS Vitual PC. We are using the free version and for database we are using SQL Express 2005. The server was running on VMWare host and recently I moved it to a regular Dell server to see if that would help the performance but this made no difference.
In a perfect world what I would like to accomplish is this:
1. Migrate to a current version that can work on IE 8 and 9
2. Fix the performance issues
3. Get our selfs on support so that we don't fall behind again.

Thank you for the additional details. This will definitely get us into the right discussion for moving your company forward.
As I’m sure you know, with Web Applications there are many things that can affect performance that have nothing to do with the specific application. In general, web applications with a rich user interface are impacted by bandwidth, latency, firewall issues, anti-virus software configurations (so common!), proxy servers, … you get the idea.
Aras Support has years of experience resolving performance issues, and 8 times out of 10 there is a proxy server setting problem, or a setting in the anti-virus software that needs to be tweaked; resulting in stellar performance again.
While there is a lot of value in the Aras Subscription for updates, it goes beyond that with access to the years of experience of our in-house staff with network and server tuning and much more.
