SUPPORT Q&A - ECN Deletion

spolen - Monday, April 7, 2008 7:39 AM:

I don't if anyone has the answer to this question.  I accidently deleted an ECN where I had attached the affected files.  I have had IT look into this and he can't find the deleted file.  Now the problem I have is even though I promoted the parts to released, when exporting out a BOM, the affected files still show as "In Change".  Do I write another ECN to get them recognized as released in the system, or is there a way to recover the deleted ECN so I can push it through?

Thanks,

Sue

Unfortunately, you cannot recover the deleted ECN or it's Files.

You can do one of two things, as I see it.

1) You can add yourself as a member of the Aras PLM identity and force the promotions to the correct state so you can redo any needen ECNs.

IMPORTANT:  You should not add your Identity to the Aras PLM user for any reason but a quick fix.  Identities with is_alias=1 should not have members, as this could cause errors with Identity based queries in the system.

2) Contact Aras support for help resolving the issue.  (This requires a vailid Aras support agreement.)

Hope this helps,

Bill

I have already promoted them manually, but now another change has been written and it will not let me promote, it gives an error "Can't promote In Change to In Change", so I figured being I accidently deleted the ECN that had those affected files attached, somehow the system is not recognizing them as released.

Maybe when I attend the Community Event, I can get some help in trying to figure out this issue.

Thanks,

Sue
