SUPPORT Q&A - Error on Aras Login

siren - Sunday, November 18, 2012 11:05 PM:

i have setup my server 2003 sp2 Aras test environment. on logon for the first time - i put username - admin -password - innovator, and i get the following error message

"cannot execute as the database principal because the principal "aras_innovator" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonated , or you do not have permission."

i think aras_innovator is the database logon i created the first time i installed server 2005. i had some issue so i uninstalled and reinstalled SQl and used "innovator" as the login ID this time around.

I uninstalled SQL and aras and then reinstalled both and still got the same error -

I have then done a format - installed everything again and i am still getting the same error message. I thought aras_innovator was something that i have created - but it seems it is not!!!!! - i just created one standard sql user - innovator

I have also created a 2008r2 virtual environment. with sql 2008 - and i still get the same error message on that when i go to log in - so I must be missing something!!
