DEVELOPERS FORUM - Express DCO Internal Error: Failed to get the transition to promote the document from In Review to Preliminary

Harsha - Tuesday, December 4, 2012 3:20 AM:

Hi, In the Express DCO workflow process at state 'Initial Review', If the Assigned user(Team Manager) select vote as 'Rework' then It is throwing an error. Says: 'Internal Error: Failed to get the transition to promote the document from In Review to Preliminary'. But If the assigned user select any other like 'Fast approve' or 'Full review', then there are no complaints! What is the reason for this error? and, how to solve this? Thank You Harsha

Hi Harsha,

As per Change Management, If User Completes the DCO Workflow Activity “Initial Review”  by Vote “Rework” then,
1. Express DCO is Auto-Demoted to “In Work” LifeCycle State
2. Affected Item CAD/Document is Auto-Demoted to “Preliminary” LifeCycle State

Here, as per your error there is problem in CAD/Document Lifecycle definition. The Lifecycle is missing one path from
"In Review" --> "Preliminary"

To solve this issue Update the default life-cycle of CAD/Document by adding a transition from "In Review" --> "Preliminary" having role= "CM"

Hope it helps..

Thanks & Regards,
Vasant Padhiyar

Vasant , thanks for your reply.

      The default Life cycles of both CAD and Document are already having the 'In Review' to 'Preliminary' transistion,role as 'CM'. But still the process throwing the mentioned error.

But, once after I change the role to 'Aras PLM' from 'CM' , then there are no more complaints about the transistion.

Is this right, changing the default role?    Why I'm facing issues with the default role 'CM'?

Thanks for your help, Harsha
