I guess it's kind of obvious, but I did not find whether Aras is supposed to be compatible with Windows 8? I've tried it in our setup and it doesn't work, but it could be for many reasons. However, it looks like Aras needs .net framework 2.0, which can't be installed on Windows 8.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same prolem. I have an old XP machine what is working good with Aras and a new machine windows 8 (64 bit), Dot Net 4.5 that doesn't work.
I tried the dot net 4.5 solution with regedit, without any good results.

Check your IE Version. IE 10 is not supported yet.
You'll have to run it on IE 9 32bit.
