Russell Koehne - Monday, February 18, 2013 5:18 PM:
Hello all,
I have installed Innovator 9.3 following the installation guide. Server 2008r2, SQL2008r2, IIS v7 using default settings etc. I have followed the IE9 and .net guides and run the .net prog on both server and client machines.
I have problem that only logins (they still fail, see below) can be done over https, not http.
From a Client machine I can't login using address: serverIP/innovatorServer, if I use https I can get the machine to bring up a window for the login but the window is blank with no login screen.
From the Server itself using localhost/innovatorserver I get an error 403.4 - the page you are trying to access is secured with SSL.
If I use localhost/innovatorserver it will bring up the login window. The window doesn't appear to function. ie put in default login credentials hit enter or click login nothing happens (I noticed another user had this problem with SSL but his post was unresolved)
Does anyone know what is going on? I have no idea why it is using SSL instead of http.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Russell

Is anyone able to help with this?
I have been through the installation guides and the installation video again. My install remains the same.

Hi Russell,
It sounds like you might have put the site into Trusted Sites with the "Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone" still ticked and therefore put the site in as HTTPS... not HTTP
Regards,
Brian.

Thank you for the suggestion Brian.
I have check the Trusted sites setting in IE on both the server and the client machines. The address http://serverIP is the only address there (no https:// address) and the server verification was not ticked.
To be sure I deleted the entries and created new ones with the box unticked and just the http://serverIP address and the issues remain unchanged.
Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Russell,
Do you get the same errors on the server and the client?
Do you have any other unusual settings for IE for security?
Brian.
Russell Koehne - Tuesday, April 16, 2013 8:53 PM:
Brian,
As far as I can tell security settings are normal for IE.
From the Server, I get to the login screen, put in the username and pw - nothing happens.
On the Client, I get the error message: Aras Innovator client has failed to initialise, please contact your sys admni to review you .NET settings.
I have run SDNS.exe prog with the firewall turned off, so I am not sure why there would be a .net settings issue.
Still no http access.
Russell
