DEVELOPERS FORUM - ECO In Planning and Draft Changes

jsnosal - Thursday, July 18, 2013 11:45 AM:

Has anyone tried to combine In Planning and Draft Changes for an ECO? What my team is requesting is the ability to add assemblies to an ECO while they are modifying other assemblies. So an assembly is set to revise and is set to a new revision. Along with having the ability to add another assembly to be modified in the same state. Can this be done? Thank you for your help.

Hi jsonal,

It probably can be done. The issue is that the lifecycle transition from In Planning to Draft Changes calls a server method that promotes the affected items as required to In Change and creates new versions of the Parts at the same time at Preliminary so that you can work on them.

To be able to add new parts to the ECO while in the Draft Changes state you have to be able to run this code against the new parts to force the creation of the new Preliminary Parts.

Cheers,

Brian.
