SUPPORT Q&A - Problem with login - Cryptography

BjarneNoergaard - Monday, September 9, 2013 3:31 AM:

Hi

I have installed ARAS 9.4.0 and wants to logon for the first time, but I get an error message with reference to some cryptographic library:

"The type initializer for "Aras.Common.Cryptography.RSACryptoHelper" threw an exception "

I was logging in as admin with password: innovator via IE 10 and WIn 7.

What to do?

Bjarne

Hi Bjarne,

I've got the same problem.

First install, server on Win7, same machine as client, no problem

Second install, server on Win Server 2008, client Win7 (same IP network), I have the RSACryptoHelper Exception problem.

What to do indeed.......

Hi Jason

"First install, server on Win7, same machine as client, no problem"

But I got the problem on the same machine as client.

I managed to solve my problem :-)

In IIS, World Wide Web Services, Security - I checked all options to on.

After install and restart of the PC, I was able to progress.

Br,

Bjarne

Hi,

Our IT guy found another solution, posting here in case others have the same problem.  Perhaps you just got lucky with the reboot.

Anyway, he found that you need  to set the application pool to start with profile as it needs to store the RSA keys in the user profile.

Yay, it's working now.....

Regards,

Jason.
