SUPPORT Q&A - New Install and IE error

PrWhite - Wednesday, November 20, 2013 8:20 PM:

I just installed Aras Innovator 9.4.0 on a Win 2012 R2 system and SQL Server 2012.  When I direct my IE 10 browser to the site, I land on this URL:

aras-test/.../requires_ie.html

The text of this page claims that Aras Innovator requires IE 7+.  As I clearly meet the criteria, I'm guessing that IIS isn't correctly identifying the browser when it connects.  I'm not much for IIS and brand new to Aras.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I have the same error. However, this only occurs one some of my client boxes, so far I have tried three (all with Win7 Pro, latest updates) and one is working whereas two shows this problem. All of them have had IE11 automatically installed as updates until I uninstalled them (reverting back to IE10) and ticked off the autoupdate flag.

One thought: Could there be any residues left in the registry from IE11, that occurs only under some specific circumstances.

I have been able to fix the problem. It might be some data stored in the local part of the roaming profile (at least in my case). It also seems to be connected with running IE11 at least once (or maybe trying to open Aras with IE11 at least once).

So I removed my roaming user profile completely (as admin under Control Panel/System/Advanced/User profiles) and logged in again and now Aras works as expected.

A small thought: Make a backup copy on the user profile before you delete it, I don't want to cause data loss for somebody following my example having something unexpectedly stored in the local part of the profile. I also don't know if this can occur when you don't run roaming profiles at all.
