APPLICATION - PRODUCT ENGINEERING - ECO/DCO Error - "Change cannot continue while affected items still have Action set to 'Review'

kpayne - Thursday, April 17, 2014 4:47 PM:

Hello,

I am a design engineer evaluating Aras as a PLM solution for a small lighting company.  I am trying to run through a basic ECO/DCO change request, but keep running into this error when I try to approve a part.  I can see the Action status in the part listed as review, but I can't see any what to change it.

Any thoughts or direction is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi!

If the part is not released it can be added to ECO but ECO's workflow can't be updated unless the part is released.

So release the part via Impact Matrix (change Item action to released).

Hi !

Unless the part is released you can't do any updates in ECO.

Goto the impact matrix of ECO and change Item's Action to released.

I'm a new Product Manager at Aras working on the ECO product at this time.  I noted your question and wanted to get you an answer.

I'm going to assume you are trying to release a "new" part that is unreleased.  In this case you need to open the ECN as either the Creator (likely you) or the Team Manager.  From there you can unlock the ECO and set each parts impact - release, none, etc.  With my assumption you would set the part to Release.  Then save and close the ECO.  From here you should be able to proceed with the workflow sign offs.

Thanks for checking our Aras.  How can we help?

Best regards,

Dave
