SUPPORT Q&A - Aras 10 Shortcut on Internet Explorer 10.0 Showing Blank Page

KamranAftab - Friday, April 25, 2014 9:11 AM:

Hi All,

I successfully installed Aras 10 yesterday and it was working. However, this morning, when I restarted my machine it did some windows updates, and now when I double click the Aras shortcut, the Internet Explorer 10.0 window comes up blank. The address bar shows:

localhost/.../default.aspx

Thanks in advance for all those will help.

Kamran -

Were you ever able to get your issue resolved? I have the same problem. Aras 10, Internet Explorer 10. The page goes blank with this URL: XXXXX/.../default.aspx.

I have double checked the IE settings. I have verified that the correct address is setup in the trusted sites and ran the sdns tool from the desktop as admin.

The installation works correctly from firefox so I do not believe it has to do with the setup.

The local host is the IIS server windows 2012.

Thanks,
MAV

Mark,

I did not remember at all what I had to do to make it work. So I just went through the exercise again. It seems like adding localhost to trusted sites did the trick. Here are the steps:

Internet Explorer --> Tools --> Internet Options --> Security --> Trusted Sites --> Sites

Add http://localhost

I don't believe I had to run dns.

Please update this post with your results.

One more thing. When I pressed on "Add", I got the message that it was already in the trusted sites. I added it regardless, and then it worked.

Kamran,
Again you need to run sdns and check for IE setting.

Pankaj,

Why do I need to run sdns and what setting in IE? Why would I care when it is all working fine?
