DEVELOPERS FORUM - Could not search "Parts" after Manual Release

enareshy - Tuesday, July 8, 2014 9:18 AM:

I am New To ARAS.

I created a New Organization structure and created a user Don in Design team.

Then using Don login, I created a BOM Structure with one assembly and two parts. Then I manually released the Assembly parts and also other 2 parts.

Once the parts are released with Don login I am not able to see these parts in search results. But when I login as Admin I can see these parts.

With admin login I open the Assembly, but when I see the aprts in BOM tab , I still see them as Preliminary state. Is something wrong in my approach or I have to set any things so Don can see released parts.

Hi Enareshy,

Check the Life Cycle Map for the Part Itemtype.

When you open the Part lifecycle map, click on the Manual Change activity. You will see that it has it's own state permission called Manual Change Part.

In my system I can see there are 3 groups with 'get' permission in the 'Manual Change Part' Permission

  • Component Engineering
  • Aras PLM
  • All Employees

You should be able to resolve the problem by making sure the user (Don) is part of one of these identities.

Hello David,

Thank you for your reply.

Thought I did not see any manual change permission, but your answer made me to explore Lifecycle map and saw that Released Part permission is only to All employees and ARAS PLM.

So I added Owner to permission and so now owner Don can search the Released parts.,

Thanks a Lot!

Thank you David,

In my case it was Released Part permission. So I have added Owner and gave access to discover and now I can view the released parts.

Thanks a lot for guiding me to solution..
